It was a great day to "BEE" in STEAM class! First graders enjoyed working with Bee Bots today in Mrs. Pomaville's class. First, they listened to stories about bees, then practiced on the Bee Bot emulator and finally used the Bee Bots! 🐝

KES is so grateful for the visit from Andy, Joe, and Melanie from TSC and their incredible generosity! Thanks to their thoughtful donation, our preschool, Young 5’s and kindergarten students got to dig into spring by planting their own sunflower seeds. TSC donated all the supplies they needed—cups, markers, dirt, seeds, and more! They even went the extra mile by including a gift card to their store so we can pick up any additional supplies that would benefit our classrooms. Thank you for investing in our youngest Cardinals and helping their love for nature and learning grow. Your kindness has truly planted the seeds for a bright future!

Over the past two days, William and Terri Neill from Science Alive paid a visit to every classroom at KES. Our students and staff enjoyed up-close encounters with Rocco and Rolo the three-banded armadillos, Ginger the two-fingered sloth, Nacho, Chip, and Dexter the Chinchillas, Honeycomb the Burmese python, and many more! Our kids loved interacting with the presenters and animals and getting to learn more about each species. Thank you to our KES Student Council for making this exciting opportunity possible for our KES kids!

HOT DOG! 🌭 It's been a great week at KES! We sure felt the love pouring in, thanks to the efforts of many. Special shout out to KES Student Council for treating staff to lunch from Treve's on Thursday. Today, staff enjoyed hot dogs and soft pretzels 🥨 from The Green Apron compliments of The Sunshine Club and Kingston Connected. The greatest gift of all is the honor of teaching your children. Kindergartners in Mrs. Lester’s classroom investigated how pushes and pulls can change the speed and direction of falling objects. They designed solutions to protect “tiny town” from bouncing-ball boulders! The little engineers were busy at work!

KES is blessed with some great staff that pour into our kids each day, but this year we have been blessed with the opportunity to pour into some fantastic future educators as well. Erika Martin in Mrs. Lester’s kindergarten class and Zoey Hunter in Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Schank’s third grade classrooms were a great addition to our KES family this school year, and will both make great future teachers. Friday marked both of their last days, and our staff and students enjoyed celebrating with them!
